Hi Mick,
The exhaust manifold was unpainted and had the grey cast iron finish.
I have a colour photo of a V8 engine bay at the release in Canberra in 73 which shows the colour of the manifolds perfectly, if you wish I can email it to you.
It is also of use to anyone else restoring a P76 with regards to getting all the colours and detail right in the engine bay.
I am almost certain the 6 cylinder motors were painted the same blue as the V8 rocker covers and air cleaner, according to Dulux this colour was called Jet Stream Blue.
This colour is almost identical to the engine blue used on the XY GT's, if you go to someone like Grand Tourer in Melbourne ( in Broadmeadows I think ) or any other Falcon GT specialist they can sell it to you in a spray pack.
Make sure you ask for the XY blue though, because the colour does vary between models and the XY is the closest.
Regards,
