Hi Adrian,
The year of manufacture on the compliance plate on the Deluxe body is 5/73.
On the strut housing is stamped 076A4S2N26 - 1105.
There is another compliance on the "Super" body which I still have on my previous property 22 ks away.
The following is some general information.
The car is in Wangaratta North East Victoria, 240ks from Melb, on the Hume Freeway 50ks South of Albury Wodonga.
The car (deluxe body) was purchased new by me in June 1973 and used as a family car until March 1988.
It was then shedded and ownership passed to my son (who was then 17) and driven for a few k's occasionally.
He then purchased a V8 model (which had 82,112 miles on the speedo) which had a rusted body and he and a mechanic,
transferred the engine, gearbox, diff, etc and seats to the original body.
During this time he got the Leyland P76 workshop manual.
My son then joined the Army and never got around to registering it.
He ended up being based in Darwin.
It sat in the shed under a car cover until 3 1/2 years ago, when I sold the property and moved into Wangaratta.
The car moved too.
My son tried to sell the car, but put too high a price on it.
As he had got married and needed some cash, I bought it off him.
After 2 years the car cover started to fall apart and for the last 18 months the car has been
exposed to the weather which has meant stone chips have started to rust.
Generally I think it is fairly good as far as rust goes.
There are no dints.
It might need a respray and things like the seat belt buckles need a touch up.
It is taking up room in our back yard my wife says it has to go.
It is drivable, but having stood for a while the tyres are roadworth they probably have flat spots.
It has standard wheels, and a duel exhaust system.
The brake lights, tail lights, rear right and left blinkers work but don't blink.
The headlights and front right and left blinkers don't work.
So it is not roadworthy.
I have attached some additional photos.
Regards
John
